Partnering for Strategic Medtech Exits That Matter
From developing engagement strategies for innovative medical device developers to structuring meaningful acquisitions, I’ve spent over fifteen years at the intersection of medtech innovation, business strategy and M&A. I understand the technical challenges of medical device development, the motivations of founders and physician-inventors, and the financial imperatives of investors seeking value and liquidity.
My Story
My journey began in technology and executive communications, but early exposure to the medtech world altered my trajectory. As I worked alongside physician-inventors, engineers and startup teams, I saw how groundbreaking innovations too often stalled — not for lack of quality, but for lack of strategic alignment and exit preparedness.
I founded AE Cooper Medical Ventures to serve a niche I felt was underserved: early-stage and pre-commercial medtech companies (and the funds backing them) pursuing exits under ~$25 M. These are deals where standard “big-house” bankers don’t focus, but where smart partnerships and thoughtful planning can yield meaningful outcomes.
